Myers then investigated Santiago's influence throughout the Americas. Such diverse groups as Haitian voodoo followers and the New Mexico Pueblo Indians incorporated legends and ritual relating to Santiago into their native religions. Myers photographed a Santiago celebration in Puerto Rico with a mix of Catholic influences and African imagery. In Mexico, Myers photographed an Indian village performing a Santiago dance using a small hobby horse.
