Judy Chicago 23 x 19'', platinum-palladium print with watercolor. Edition of 20 with 3 artist's proofs
As Joan Myers approached 50, she decided it was time to deal with issues of aging. Reviewing art history she saw very few images of nude, older women in art-outside of witchcraft treatises-and decided to make the needed pictures herself. "Women of a Certain Age" debuted at Santa Fe's Linda Durham Gallery in September and struck a chord with female viewers. Most were awed by Myers' acceptance and appreciation for bodies of all shapes, sizes and life stages."- Santa Fe Photographic Workshops (1994)
